Julie Walters Steele is honored to serve as the Director of Reynolds Homestead, a Commonwealth Campus Center at Virginia Tech, where she manages a Community Enrichment Center and the historic Rock Spring Plantation. During the past seven years, Julie has initiated a growth in programs and services at Reynolds Homestead in an effort to support a creative economy in Patrick County and beyond. Among the programs she manages, Julie is responsible for coordinating workshops offered by the Air Institute across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Before moving to Patrick County, Virginia,  Julie worked in community building roles on the campuses of  Virginia Tech; Western Carolina University; and at her alma mater, Clemson University. An active volunteer within the universities and communities she serves, Julie enjoys developing collaborative partnerships that affect positive change and build stronger communities, and spending time with her family – especially on nature and music outings.
