Annie Jane’s life and work have taken her from her home state of Mississippi to places such as Wisconsin and post Katrina New Orleans, before nestling down in the central Appalachian Mountains nearly a decade ago. Annie Jane is a current board member of Southern Appalachian Mountain Stewards, and former Board President, as well as serving on the board of The Clinch Coalition. Annie Jane is engaged in a variety of local, regional, and national networks, and participates in organizing efforts that seek to envision sustainable, community led economies in central Appalachia, while connecting and collaborating nationally and internationally. As the organizer of the Letcher County Culture Hub, she brings together nearly 20 organizations throughout Letcher County to work together to define and create a future in which community voices are centered in utilizing arts and culture in economic development.
